"Christ Himself will RESTORE, Establish and Strengthen you!" 1 Peter 5:11
We have made it... My favorite time of the year... Spring Retreat! This year our theme will be RESTORE and we will be diving into one of my favorite topics... HEALING! We live in a broken world, mostly due to original sin, we live in a post fall world and want to be reminded/ be restored to the pre-fall mentality. Whether we want to admit it or not we are all broken. Each of us is wounded, our wounds may be caused by our parents or other family members, friends, relationships, friends, our own sins, and so much more. The problem is this world tells us that we can deal with our issues ourselves, or to turn to things of this world, but this just leads us to more self-destruction. This isn't the plan God originally had for us. He wants us to be Free, joyful, Loved, Restored! I invite you to join me on this journey towards happiness. This Lent the Lord is calling you to surrender all your worries and suffering to the foot of His Cross! Will you Respond?
As many of you know we were suppose to have a retreat in October but it didn't work out, In preparation for that retreat I had listed some reasons why you should go on a retreat... So I want to share them with you again...
I'm praying for each of your hearts, that the Lord may begin to soften it so that you may be able to truly receive all that he has in store for you!.

Dear Parents,In 1910, Pope Pius X signed off on a document affirming that young people, especially those who had reached the use of reason, had a right to the sacraments of Eucharist and Reconciliation. That may not be shocking news, but what is shocking is the somber reason he gave for this emphasis on getting the young people to the sacrament. The Pope was worried that, if they were kept from the sacraments for too long, they’d be too easily drawn in to all of the temptations the world had to offer. If the Church didn’t encourage and allow them to receive the Eucharist, they would be without the medicine of salvation and would in turn be led astray by the allure of sin. Remember, this is over 100 years ago! Today we live in a time when, according to Pope Francis, we’re forgetting what sin even means. Miley Cyrus, at the end of 2013, was the most-Googled person in America and the number one television show in 2005 for 10-12 year olds was Desperate Housewives. Sound scary? It is. But don’t worry! Our Catholic faith, and your parish, is here to help you. That’s where Rooted comes in.
Mari Pablo and I, along with some special guests, will be taking a time out from all of the craziness around us and focusing on those things that truly matter for you and your family: prayer, the sacraments, our vocations, our human dignity, and the call to holiness. The Catholic Church teaches and has taught for years that parents are the primary educators of their children, especially when it comes to religious faith. In fact, the home is described as a domestic church where children first learn the virtues, learn to pray, and learn what it means to love. We want to give you some positive encouragement in your jobs as parents. This includes learning to realize your own vocation and call to holiness. It means becoming a model of the Catholic faith, and thereby becoming a teacher. Above all, this means taking responsibility for our baptismal vows. We are all called, each one of us, to put our spiritual lives first. Only in doing so can we become the witness our children need.
But how can we reach these lofty goals? By starting simple, by knowing we are loved, and that we are part of a community that wants to help us grow. Mari and I will be exploring some of the challenges of the modern world, along with some practical suggestions for growth in your own role as a child of God, as a parent, and as a spouse. We will be providing some resources and suggestions for helping your whole family grow closer to God and to His Church. Above all, we will be challenging you to take the next step and move closer to Him who called you into being, who sustains you, who loves you, and who desperately desires your happiness. This is, to be sure, a great struggle, but one in which beauty is found. Come out and join us and other parents as we strive, together, to connect to our common root, our heavenly Father.
P.S- Life Teen will be offering Babysitting (Suggested $5.00 donation) and SEAS Parents that attend 2 out of the 3 nights will get a dress down day for their child!
